I turn to the Director and say, “This is unbelievable, I can cook for you and you would actually enjoy it”.
He replied with “Then do it. You start next Wednesday”.
Six minutes later, I was on the computer registering my business.
It has been four years since that day and I have experienced more than I could have imagined. Literally.
No matter how much you plan, the unforeseen will always arise.
This is the strongest lesson I have learned so far, Plan, but leave room for change.
Friends, family, colleagues and strangers have taught me many things over these four years, about myself, work ethic, passion and about others. I have cooked for festivals, art galleries, food demonstrations, board meetings, film sets, reunions and airports. I hope to grow our business, learn a great deal more and I look forward to many new adventures with my business partner, future clients and zero leftovers.
